Bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract characterized by recurrent episodes of wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing. Despite advances in pharmacological treatment, many patients continue to experience symptoms and reduced quality of life. Yoga therapy, an ancient holistic practice comprising physical postures (Asanas ), breathing exercises ( Pranayama ), meditation, and relaxation techniques, has emerged as a complementary approach in asthma management. The present paper reviews the efficacy of yoga therapy in improving pulmonary function, reducing symptom severity, enhancing psychological well-being, and improving quality of life among bronchial asthma patients. Evidence from clinical studies suggests that regular yogic practice
may significantly improve lung capacity, respiratory efficiency, stress management, and overall health outcomes. The study concludes that yoga therapy can serve as a valuable adjunctive treatment in the comprehensive management of bronchial asthma .
