Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines for GKU Journal of Multidisciplinary Research
GKU Journal of Multidisciplinary Research invites high-quality research contributions from all academic disciplines. Authors should adhere to the following guidelines for the preparation and submission of their research papers.
General Guidelines
1. Manuscript Submission:
· Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system (provide a link to submission platform).
· All manuscripts should be in English.
· Authors must ensure their manuscript is formatted according to IEEE standards before submission.
2. Paper Structure:
The paper must be structured as follows:
· Title: Concise and descriptive (maximum of 12 words).
· Author(s) Information: Full names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID IDs (if available).
· Abstract: A brief summary of the paper (maximum of 250 words).
· Keywords: 3-5 keywords that represent the main topics of the paper.
· Main Text: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
· References: IEEE referencing style.
3. Formatting Guidelines:
· Paper Size: A4 (210mm x 297mm).
· Margins: Top, bottom, left, and right margins should be set to 1 inch (25mm).
· Page Layout: The manuscript must be formatted in two-column layout, with a 0.25-inch (6.35 mm) space between columns.
· Font: Use Times New Roman for all text.
§ Title: 14 pt, bold, centered.
§ Authors' names: 12 pt, bold.
§ Abstract and keywords: 10 pt, regular.
§ Body text: 10 pt, regular.
§ Section headings: 12 pt, bold, aligned to the left.
· Line Spacing: Use 1.5-line spacing for the body of the paper.
· Paragraphs: Indent paragraphs (except for the abstract and references).
· Figures and Tables: Ensure all figures and tables are numbered and include descriptive captions. All figures and tables should be placed within the text and not at the end of the document.
§ Figures: Place captions below figures.
§ Tables: Place captions above tables.
· Equations: All equations should be numbered consecutively in parentheses (e.g., (1)) and referenced within the text.
4. Minimum Number of Pages:
· The paper must be a minimum of 5 pages in length. Manuscripts of shorter length will not be considered for publication.
· There is no fixed maximum number of pages, but authors are encouraged to keep their paper concise and focused.
5. Page Numbers: Do not include page numbers in your submission. These will be added during the final production process.
IEEE Referencing Style
In-Text Citations:
· In-text citations must be in IEEE format (e.g., [1], [2], [3]).
· When citing a reference with multiple authors, use the first author’s last name
· followed by “et al.” if there are more than three authors (e.g., [3]).
Reference List:
· All references must be listed at the end of the paper in IEEE citation style.
· The references should be numbered in the order in which they are cited in the text.
Examples:
Journal Articles:
[1] A. B. Author, "Title of paper," Title of Journal, vol. xx, no. yy, pp. zz-zz, month, year.
Conference Papers:
[2] C. D. Author, "Title of paper," in Proceedings of the Name of Conference, Location, Year, pp. xxx-xxx.
Online Sources:
[3] E. F. Author, "Title of webpage," Website Name. [Online]. Available: URL. [Accessed: Month day, year].
Figures and Tables
Figures:
· Figures must be clear, legible, and relevant to the content.
· Figures should be in high-resolution formats (e.g., .PNG, .JPEG, .TIFF).
· All figures should be referenced within the body of the text (e.g., "As shown in Figure 1...").
Tables:
· Tables should be formatted for readability and clarity.
· Tables should be referred to within the text (e.g., "Table 1 illustrates...").
Proofreading and Ethical Considerations
Proofreading:
· Ensure that the paper is free of spelling, grammatical, and typographical errors.
· Authors should thoroughly proofread the paper before submission.
Plagiarism:
· The submitted paper should be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
· All sources, including quotes and paraphrased content, should be properly cited.
Ethical Approval:
· If applicable, provide a statement of ethical approval for human or animal research studies.
Conflict of Interest:
· Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to their research.
Review and Publication Process
Peer Review:
· All submitted papers will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
· Authors will be notified of the review outcome within 4-6 weeks of submission.
Acceptance:
· Once the paper is accepted, authors will be informed and provided with the final proofs for approval.
Publication Fee:
· Upon acceptance, a publication fee may be applicable (provide fee details if applicable).
Basic Sciences and Interdisciplinary Research
Areas of thrust in Basic Sciences and Interdisciplinary Research focus on advancing fundamental knowledge in physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics, while fostering collaboration across disciplines to address complex global challenges and drive innovation.
Computing and Information Technology
Areas of thrust in Computing and Information Technology include artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, block chain, IoT, data science, and digital transformation, driving innovation and enhancing industry efficiency.
Engineering and Technological Innovations
Areas of thrust in Engineering and Technological Innovations focus on developing cutting-edge solutions in automation, robotics, renewable energy, materials science, AI, and sustainable infrastructure to drive progress and address global challenges.
Fine Arts, Literature, and Cultural Studies
Areas of thrust in Fine Arts, Literature, and Cultural Studies focus on preserving cultural heritage, promoting artistic expression, exploring literary themes, fostering creativity, and examining the intersection of culture, society, and identity.
Physical Education
Areas of thrust in Physical Education focus on promoting fitness, sports performance, wellness education, developing coaching techniques, integrating technology in training, and fostering physical activity to enhance overall health and well-being.
Agricultural Sciences and Sustainable Development
Agricultural Sciences and Sustainable Development focus on sustainable farming practices, climate-smart agriculture, soil health, water conservation, biotechnology, and improving food security, while promoting environmental protection and rural development.
Business, Management, and Entrepreneurship
Areas of thrust in Business, Management, and Entrepreneurship focus on innovation, leadership development, strategic management, sustainable business practices, digital transformation, and fostering entrepreneurial ecosystems to drive economic growth and global competitiveness.
Education and Pedagogical Innovation
Areas of thrust in Education and Pedagogical Innovation focus on enhancing teaching methodologies, integrating technology, promoting personalized learning, fostering critical thinking, and improving access to quality education for diverse learners.
Hospitality and Tourism Management
Areas of thrust in Hospitality and Tourism Management focus on enhancing customer experiences, sustainable tourism practices, digital innovations, destination management, and workforce development to drive growth and ensure long-term industry sustainability.
Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences
Areas of thrust in Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences focus on advancing diagnostic techniques, improving patient care, promoting health education, enhancing rehabilitation services, and integrating technology to improve healthcare outcomes.
Law, Justice, and Legal Studies
Areas of thrust in Law, Justice, and Legal Studies focus on advancing legal education, promoting justice reforms, enhancing human rights, addressing environmental law, and integrating technology for efficient legal systems.
Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Development
Areas of thrust in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Development focus on advancing drug discovery, improving formulations, enhancing clinical trials, personalized medicine, and developing innovative therapies to address global health challenges.
