Abstract

Digital governance is shaking things up for organizations in India, thanks to big pushes like Digital India and the National e-Governance Plan. This research digs into the real-life challenges Indian organizations face—whether public or private. After sifting through tons of literature and keeping an eye on recent policy shifts, the study lays out the biggest hurdles: weak infrastructure, gaps in digital know-how, security threats, messy regulations, and not enough resources. The study doesn't just point out problems, it also  offers evidence-backed solutions, from ramping up infrastructure with BharatNet, investing in capacity-building, rolling out the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, streamlining regulations, to jumping into new tech like AI and big data. The findings don’t just stay theoretical. The research gives organizations practical frameworks for making things more transparent and accountable, all while fitting global digital governance ideas into India’s unique social and economic reality.
