Abstract

This study examines the effects of circuit training on physical fitness and body composition among students aged 16–18 years from government senior secondary schools in Sirsa district, Haryana. A quasi-experimental design was employed with a sample of 50 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group underwent a structured circuit training program for four weeks, while the control group did not participate in any specific training. Key variables assessed included muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and body mass index (BMI). Standardized fitness tests such as pull-ups, sit-ups, the 12-minute run/walk test, and the sit-and-reach test were used for data collection. Statistical techniques including mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, and t-tests were applied to analyze the data. The findings indicate that circuit training significantly improves overall physical fitness components and body composition. The study highlights the importance of structured physical training programs in enhancing health and fitness among school students.
